PARISH IN ACTION

LAST CALL to purchase panettones!  Take one home this weekend – it’s a St. Martin’s
tradition.

The Knights will soon be busy distributing Christmas food/gift hampers.  These hampers have been
organised and assembled by students of St. Martin’s High School.  The Knights will also be distributing
gifts to patients in the Paediatric and Maternity wards of Trillium Hospital on Christmas Eve.

The Knight of Columbus Christmas Dance was held last weekend at St Martin’s High School.
Approximately $1000
was raised at this lively and enjoyable event.  The proceeds will benefit Knights of
Columbus charities.

PARISH IN CONFLICT

Is there a report on the state of the parish?  What are the recommendations?

A TWO-ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE IN HAITI

The proceeds of the Feb 2005 Valentine’s Dinner Dance helped to build a two-room schoolhouse in
an impoverished region of Haiti.  More schoolrooms are needed.  A second fundraising
Valentine’s
Dinner Dance
will be held at the Waterside Inn, Port Credit on Friday, February 10, 2006.  Can
we again count on the generous support of St. Martin of Tours parishioners?  Book a table - donate a
prize for the Silent Auction.  The previous event raised $10,000.
Can we surpass that? YES, WE
CAN!

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

May the Peace of Jesus be with us all this Christmas.  To the many parishioners who have been
excluded from active participation in our parish, a Happy Christmas!  To the parishioners who have
accepted the invitation of welcome only to find that they are still excluded, a Happy Christmas!  To the
many parishioners who undergo constant rejection and humiliation in the parish, a Happy Christmas!
For thus says the Lord: "Maintain justice, and do what is right, for soon my salvation will come,
and my deliverance be revealed.”
 (Isaiah 56:1)

WISH LIST:
•        That the Holy Spirit will endow our Church Leaders with wisdom and compassion;
•        That exiled parishioners will be truly accepted back;
•        That a representative Parish Council will be established even now, 18 months later than promised;

•        That a Finance Council will act responsibly and with due diligence;
•        That all parish activities will be permitted in the parish again;
•        That the parish will return to the vibrant community it once was.
