CIRCULAR TO PARISHIONERS          WEEK  TWENTY-THREE NOV. 06, 2004

                      ANOTHER DOMINO FALLS
____________________________________________________________________

Have you noticed the absence of the Knights of Columbus sign at the Church?  It’s
been gone for weeks – that’s because the Knights are gone too.  Fr. Beltran gave the
Knights an ultimatum to expel three members or leave the parish.  It is contrary to
the Knights constitution to expel members without sufficient cause.  The Knights are
now forced to meet at another location off parish property.

Does this mean the end of:

COMMUNION BREAKFASTS CATERED BY THE KNIGHTS
           THE CHRISTMAS PANETONE
           THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
           VALENTINE’S DAY FUND-RAISING DANCE
           THE PARISH PICNIC
           EARLY  MORNING SNOW SHOVELLING
            PASTA NIGHTS
            YARD SALES

-  and many other activities at the heart and soul of our parish?

We believe that the Knights will continue to be fully active and to fulfil their
commitments to the deserving causes they sponsor.  We must all continue to support
them in their good works.  This weekly circular will keep you advised  -  you don’t
want to miss those delicious Christmas Panetone, do you?    We understand  Order
Forms will be available shortly.

WHO WILL BE AXED NEXT? ………..

WHERE DOES THIS STOP? ………………..

CAN IT BE STOPPED BEFORE THE PARISH BECOMES AN EMPTY
SHELL?

Ask Fr. Beltran to explain.   Write your concerns to the Bishop and the Cardinal.
One voice may seem insignificant BUT IT MATTERS.  Your voice may be the one
that penetrates the wall.
Your voice may be the one that makes a difference.  Your
appeal may be the one that gets results.

              A HOPEFUL PARISHIONER WRITES

___________________________________________________________________

                                                                             November 1, 2004

Dear Fr. Beltran,

I just heard that last Thursday, you celebrated 26 years as a priest.  Congratulations!

We pray that the Good Lord will bless you and at least now, give you the wisdom,
courage and strength to deal with ALL your parishioners in a kind, courteous,
compassionate and Christ-like manner.  Christ was humble, even unto death.  Any
pastor washing the feet of 12 parishioners at the service on the Thursday before
Good Friday is not displaying humility, if his actions throughout the year are
tantamount to dictatorship.

God Bless You,

A hopeful parishioner.

P.S.   I hear that the Bishop will be visiting St. Joseph’s Parish, just up the road from
us, from November 5 to November 8, 2004.  I know that St. Joe’s is truly a
WONDERFUL, Active, Christian Parish with tons of community spirit and is led by
a great pastor, Fr. Norm Roberts.  How come the Bishop is going to visit the happy,
healthy sheep, when the unhappy sheep at St. Martins have been suffering for
sooooo looooong?  What gives?  Perhaps you should remind him of the parable
where Christ says that a good shepherd will leave the 99 behind and go look for the
ONE lost sheep.  There are more than 1% lost sheep at St. Martins.  Or is the
Bishop “playing favourites” or “not wanting to face the music/tough decisions” or is
he simply taking YOUR word that everything is “hunky-dory” at St. Martins?

Your comments in the weekly bulletin will be much appreciated.

The Cardinal
